Around The Eyes
We offer three treatments around the eyes.
- Botox injections to dissolve the dynamic wrinkles cause by contractions of your facial muscles
- Restylane dermal fillers to fill the frown lines between the eyebrows
- Dermaroller skin rejuvination treatments to promote the natural formation of collagen in the skin, reduce wrinkles and treat the bags under your eyes.
The first treatment will generally be with Botulinum injections (most people call it Botox, though this is Allergan's trade name for Botulinum) for the dynamic lines that are caused by the contractions of the facial muscles. The wrinkles around the eyes and forehead can make you look as though you're frowning all the time even when you're not. Besides the Frown Lines, we can also treat the Worry Lines on your forehead, Crow's Feet to the side and Bunny Lines around your nose.
If necessary we can then use Restylane Dermal Fillers to fill the static lines that remain, particularly the Frown Lines between your eyebrows. (see the video clip above for an example of how these can be improved) Often the frown lines are made more prominent by adhesions within the skin which attach the deeper parts of the lines to the tissues below. In this case we can use a technique called subcision to free up the skin and allow the line to fill out .
Dermaroller therapy is particularly effective for treatment of the skin to the eyelids and the bags under the eyes, where fillers and botulinum are difficult or impossible to use. It works by stimulating your own skin to produce natural collagen and adds tone and volume, so it can be used on all the skin around your face and neck. Lasers work by stimulating collagen too but there is now evidence that Dermaroller Therapy is just as effective without either the problems or the down-time.
